September 11 will be a great day for Xiaomi, as it will launch the second-gen Xiaomi Mi MIX 2. It’s been announced officially. So we don’t need to tell fortunes. Though the release date is near at hand, we haven’t seen an official poster of the upcoming smartphone. It’s reasonable why the company acts so – it tries to keep that kind of pressure building up as long as possible. But today a bunch of Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 related videos appeared on the net showing not only the full-screen design of the phone but also its curved and beautiful body.
We know the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is the most anticipated and the best tri-bezel-less smartphone in the world. The manufacturer uses too narrow borders on three sides, while the bottom part is a bit wider in comparison to them to carry the front camera. We are sure the next-gen Mi MIX will have no borders at all. But the company has to invent how to put a camera lens under the screen. Well, the first video (click to watch) making a huge stir around it was published by a Mi fan showing ‘what means Full Screen 2.0’.
Second, we know the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 was designed by Philippe Starck again. He was the first person who revealed some info on this device. I guess you remember the video published on his Facebook page. Now he appears in another video (click to watch) where the designer uses the Mi MIX 2 as a weapon to destroy everything around in a video game. But we are not interested in the game. The only thing we focus while watching the video is the phone in his hands. It comes with rounded corners and edges. Thus the spotted photo we have seen earlier is going to be real. If it’s true, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will be great in terms of ergonomics.
Finally, the third video (click to watch) is an official promotional video with Kris Wu starring. The video is at low quality, but we can notice the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 back is identical to the Xiaomi Mi 6’s back shell. We think it’s quite possible the Mi MIX 2 will comes with the same back panel as the Mi 6, because the latter uses ceramic and glass, while the former one should come with a metal housing. With this move, the manufacturer won’t rack its brain on designing a new rear panel. On the other hand, using metal for its production Xiaomi won’t have any capacity problem, and the Mi MIX 2 will differ from the Mi 6 as well.
Well, we know Kris Wu will be the spokesman of the Mi MIX 2 at the launch event. But can anyone explain what these posters mean?
Actually, these promotional posters refer to the Xiaomi Mi Note 3. And he holds a smartphone (assumed to be the Mi Note 3) identical to the Xiaomi Mi 6. We have already seen this handset leaked in photos. In comparison to the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, it has no borders on two sides that are also curved. So can we assume this device will be unleashed at the same event of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2? We guess it will be so. If you remember the same happened last year when the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX were announced.
Let’s wait a couple of days because nothing certain can be said at this moment. But before the time is ticking you can get acquainted with the supposed features of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 via these two articles (1 and 2).
