Xiaomi has a busy schedule for this year, only this month we prepare for the launch of Redmi Note 5 in China and also Xiaomi will present to the world its new MI MIX 2S, the high range of the company that has led the trend of bezel-less smartphones. But let’s not forget that we are talking about Xiaomi, a company that does not stop producing new products and we will surely have several dozens of phones throughout 2018. At the moment, we do not know in detail all the Xiaomi plans for this year, but today the first clues are emerging about one of the new devices that the Chinese giant plans to present in the coming months: the Xiaomi Berlin.
Through a publication on the social network Twitter, the renowned German analyst and leaker, Roland Quandt, shared his discovery of how this mysterious Xiaomi smartphone made its way through Geekbench, the well-known platform for performance tests.
New Xiaomi “Berlin” showed up on Geekbench the other day… runs Android 7.1.2 on the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 (SDM632). The CPU core count seems to be reported wrong though, bc other evidence shows it’ll have 8 not just 6 cores. https://t.co/u3BYGDD9bM pic.twitter.com/QIccttgObr

Apparently, the device would have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor, a chip that the Californian company has not announced it yet, and in fact does not even appear on its website. Therefore, it is likely that the new Xiaomi Berlin is the first smartphone to have this SoC, which probably comes to take the place of the Snapdragon 630.
According to Quandt, the processor in question would have an architecture of eight cores – and not six, as the benchmark wrongly reflects – at a clock frequency that is unknown at the moment. We would also find 3 GB of RAM, and Android in its version 7.1.2 Nougat, although this feature remains an alternative.
To this day, this is all that is known about the one known as Xiaomi ‘Berlin’. We do not know, for now, which family of terminals will belong, or what place in the company’s catalog will be occupied, because although we still await the arrival of the new Mi Max 3, the indicated processor does not match the new giant of the brand. Anyway, we will probably know new details about the future model of the Chinese brand with the passing of the weeks.
