Alcatel IDOL 4S Goes Up for Preorder in the US for $350 on Friday

Alcatel today announced that it is bringing the unlocked IDOL 4S to the North America. The smartphone was announced at the Mobile World Congress this year, alongside the IDOL 4 and POP4 smartphones. Interestingly, the smartphone will be bundled with a virtual reality headset in the box.

Preorders for the Alcatel IDOL 4S will begin at 8:00am PDT on July 15 for $349.99, with the pre-sale orders expected to ship by early August. If you place your order during the pre-sale period, you will not only be receiving the free VR headset but quite a few other accessories as well. These include a 2.5D tempered glass screen protector, JBL headphones, an IDOL 4S protective case from Incipio, as well as free shipping. The smartphone will go on sale starting August 3 exclusively via the Alcatel website for a retail price of $399.99. Alcatel has also announced financing options for buyers, which will allow you to purchase the IDOL 4S for as low as $37 per month. As for carrier compatibility, the dual-SIM smartphone will be compatible with all GSM wireless carriers in North America.

The Alcatel IDOL 4S comes with a 5.5-inch 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution AMOLED display boasting of a high pixel density of 534 pixels per inch. It is powered by a powerful Snapdragon 652 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.8 GHz, with the Adreno 510 GPU taking care of graphics. When it comes to memory, the smartphone includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable onboard storage. Interestingly, the IDOL 4S does support adoptable storage, so you can use your microSD card storage as internal storage. At the back, IDOL 4S is equipped with a 16MP main camera that offers 0.1 second phase detection autofocus, 0.6 second instant shot, 4K video capture, and an f/2.0 aperture lens. The selfie camera is an 8MP unit with 84 degree wide-angle lens as well as camera flash and Face Beauty modes. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Micro USB 2.0, GPS with A-GPS, and 4G LTE (Cat.4) with VoLTE support. The smartphone also comes with a 3000mAh battery, dual 3.6 watt speakers with Waves Audio, and a premium full metal frame. It is up-to-date in terms of software as well, running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
