It won’t be much longer until the BlackBerry DTEK60 will be officially launched and in case you are interested in getting your hands on the device, you should know that it’s already available for pre-order at BH Photo in exchange for $500. First of all, even though the handset carries the BlackBerry brand, it’s not exactly produced by the company, and it’s manufactured by TCL instead, which also produced the DTEK50 phone that was released a while ago. For now there is no additional information on when will the other merchants will put the device up for pre-order, but there are other websites such as Amazon which will surely sell the smartphone. Speaking of Amazon, the online retailer is already selling the DTEK50, but there is no word about the upcoming terminal.
The company announced the BlackBerry DTEK60 more than a week ago, on October 3rd to be more specific, and it’s now available for pre-order. When it comes to the Canadian market on the other hand, the phone was up for pre-order since the day of its announcement. The BlackBerry DTEK60 is meant to replace the DTEK50, and it’s a more powerful handset being underpinned by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC, which is under the hood of most high-end smartphones that are currently available on the market. In terms of memory, the device comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of native storage. However, if you feel that the storage space is not enough for you, you can always expand it as the terminal features a microSD card slot.
As far as other specs are concerned, the BlackBerry DTEK60 sports a QHD screen that measures 5.5 inches and has a resolution of 2560 x 1440. Connectivity-wise, it includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and it also flaunts a 3.5 mm that can be used for regular headphones. We already mentioned that the BlackBerry DTEK60 is very similar to other premium phones, but the main difference is that BlackBerry’s product costs less money, which will probably make it appealing to the consumers.
Moving on to the camera department, the smartphone is boasting a 21 MO shooter mounted on the back which is capable of recording 4K videos, while on the front there is an 8 MP snapper for selfie purposes. The whole package is kept alive by a battery with the capacity of 3,000 mAh. Last but certainly not least, the BlackBerry DTEK60 comes pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and due to the fact that the phone features NFC, you can utilize the on-board fingerprint scanner to authenticate online payments, not just unlocking the handset itself.
