BlackBerry DTEK60 to Cost Around €600 on the German Market, Says Report

Last year, BlackBerry took the decision of dropping it own operating system and switched to Android. The company also launched its first Android-based smartphone, the BlackBerry PRIV. In addition, this year they released another Android phone named DTEK50. If we are to believe all the rumors and leaks that have been coming our way over the past few months, the manufacturer is preparing to announce a new Android device in the following days. The handset is said to be called DTEK60, and unlike the DTEK50 which was made available only in some regions, it will be launched on a global scale. One of the many markets where the company is planning to release the DTEK60 is Germany, and today we have some fresh news regarding this matter.

There is a new reports coming straight from Germany, according to which, MediaMarkt, Germany’s largest retailer, will begin to offer the smartphone starting October 25th in exchange for €600 ($660).  We don’t know yet if the retailer will only list the phone for pre-order or the consumers will actually be able to buy it as of the mentioned day. Whatever the case might be, the alleged price tag is higher than the one asked by the US retailers. To be more specific, the device was made available for pre-order by some of the North American retailers such as NCIX, Staples Canada and BH Photo Video. In Canada the DTEK60 was priced at CAD 699 ($535) (the unlocked 32 GB variant), while in the United States the customers can pre-order it for even a smaller price of $500.

The smartphone has not been officially revealed yet, but the main specifications are already out in the open and we are familiar with pretty much all the hardware components it will be backing. The BlackBerry DTEK60 is rumored to be produced by TCL, which is not surprising considering that its predecessor was also made by the same manufacturer. Anyway, judging by the information that appeared on the web so far, the terminal will sport a QHD display that will measure 5.5 inches and will have a resolution of 2560 x 1440.

In addition, it will be underpinned by the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, which will be doubled by 4 GB of RAM. In terms of storage space, the phone will provide an amount of 32 GB. In the optics section, it comes with a 21 MP rear-mounted shooter, and a user-facing 8 MP selfie snapper. Other details that need to be mentioned are the fact that the device will have an integrated fingerprint sensor, support for NFC, and a battery with a 3,000 mAh capacity.
