Earlier the Chinese smartphone maker, Leagoo has been known for its ultra-budget smartphones designed for various customers with different incomes and needs. But many didn’t like this brand due to unsatisfactory build quality and unattractive hardware. Seems everything began changing since the company started a new line called KIICAA. The first models from this family made a huge stir around it. Say, it’s impossible to pass by and not take a glance at the Leagoo KIICAA S8, Mix, Power, and so on. Manu customers will confirm this statement because the KIICAA line actually comes in with many outstanding models. But only a few people know there is a couple of models providing a great look and high-end hardware before this new line came in. One of those devices is considered to be the Leagoo T5. We’ll get acquainted with its key features below, but those who are aware of them should know this phone is currently available for $119.99 after applying the coupon (code: LeaT5).

This is a metal unibody handset looking like a high-end smartphone. Its body is made of aluminum alloy. It passes a sandblasting process, 120 steps and more than 180 hours of crafting. Moreover, the frame is made of metal as well, and it matches perfectly with the body due to advanced CNC crafting along with two antenna ribbons.
The Leagoo T5 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display supplied by Sharp. It’s a great screen using IPS technology and providing a viewing angle up to 178 degrees, 97% of NTSC color saturation, and 1500:1 of contrast ratio. Like the back side, the front panel uses 2.5D arc technology for better ergonomics Plus, the screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. A 13MP front shooter is located above the screen. This sensor uses f/2.0 aperture, 5P-lens, 1/3.06-inch of sensor size, 1.12um of pixel size, 77.9 degrees of wide angle, and thanks to the special softlight next to the speaker it takes breathtaking shots.
The home button is placed below the screen supporting a fingerprint identification. The latter has a separate ISP put for storing and processing fingerprints only. It also learns your habits and provides a better experience over time. Unfortunately, there is no NFC, so this feature can’t be used for mobile payments. The Leagoo T5 supports 4G FDD LTE. Thanks to LTE Cat.6 protocol the download speed can reach up to 300Mbps. It also supports VoLTE.
Though there is only one speaker, the Leagoo T5 really is great at a sound. Thanks to the Awinic audio chip, this handset provides an audio experience close to Hi-Fi. The sound quality reaches up to 97Db signal-to-noise ratio and 0.008% distortion. So the audio performance is acceptable and it’s the way better than the same feature on many stereo devices.
The Leagoo T5 sports a MediaTek MT6750T chip paired with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage (both are supplied by Samsung). Leagoo is one of those Chinese companies that provide their own UI. The Leagoo 2.1 OS is based on Android 7.0. It is equipped with a 3000mAh battery. This device supports 5V2A quick charge technology, which means it will charge to 35% in 30 minutes.
Finally, there is a dual-camera on the back. One of the lenses comes at the same size as the front shooter, but it’s supplied by Sony. However, the all characteristics are the same – f/2.0 aperture, autofocus of 0.1s, 5P lens, and pixel size of 1.12um. The second sensor is at 5MP and it’s supplied by OmniVision.
All the aforementioned features show this is a really great handset with a couple of shortcomings. So if you think they are acceptable, the price set for the Leagoo T5 should be very affordable.
