Creality 3D has launched a new printer, which is based on its most popular model of the CR-10 but comes with a number of new features. Of course, the selling point of the Creality CR-X is dual extrusion capabilities. This is the first product of this brand that comes our way with such a functionality. It simply means you can create two-color objects that will look more attractive. As for now, the CR-X 3D printer is sold for $729.99 if using the coupon (code: GBCRX).

The Creality CR-X comes with a new print head design that channels two filament feeds through a single nozzle. As you guess, it’s called a dual extrusion. And this is the first dual extruder 3D printer for Creality. There are two spool holders mounted atop the CR-X feed into two extruders. They are situated on both ends of the X-axis rail. This is where two filaments pass through PTFE tubes into a single Y-splitter feeding into the printer’s hot end, before extrusion through a single 0.4mm nozzle.
The Creality CR-X has a print area of 300 x 300 x 400mm. Thus, it’s the same as that in the CR-10. However, there is a coated glass bed, which is described as a ‘carboloy silicon printing platform.’ The print bed’s travel along the Y-axis is well supported, with the load spread and running over dual 2020 extrusions on eight pulleys. What we like most is lone ribbon cable connecting the base unit to the X-axis stepper, dual extruders, and hot end. It keeps things neat and tidy when the machine is in operation. The Z-axis motion is handled by a belt-driven dual lead screw getup. A single stepper motor provides the power directly to the left lead screw, with a toothed pulley and belt system, in turn, driving a second lead screw on the right-hand side of the printer.
The Creality CR-X also sports a 4.3-inch color LCD touchscreen, which is placed in the front and center on the base unit. Apart from this, there are a few other highlights as well. Say, the Creality CR-X uses an all-metal extruder, which provides a better strength, a longer service life, and a smoother printing experience. Next, the Creality CR-X adopts a single wire design. This simply means you only need one wire to connect the base and the gantry to start printing. The leveling nuts are larger that provide an ergonomic design and are easy to adjust. The bottom side block has 8 pulleys. Plus, it is relatively solid. They provide a smooth operation during printing.
