In May, the main competitor of Xiaomi has launched the Huawei Honor A2 smartband, which was the second model from this family after the A1 launched last year. Though Huawei’s current smartband is considered to be the Huawei Honor 3, this one has been made for younger customers, who are more active and spend more time on sports. This model has been released to make a tough competition to the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. But as Xiaomi is considered as the number 1 smartband seller, we can suppose the Honor-line smartbands have not been showcased good sales numbers. Today we are going to take a closer look at the Huawei Honor A2 priced at 199 yuan ($30).
Actually, there are four color options you can choose from – black, red, white, and yellow (green). Though the unboxing photos mainly refer to the last model, you can compare all of them and find out which of them is to your liking.
The Huawei Honor A2 sports a wide 0.92-inch OLED screen with touch key support. Just like the A1, this model has a stainless steel frame. It has a TPU strap with adjustable lock. The belt uses a hypoallergenic material with air sweat groove and decorated with diamond-like Lingge texture. The smartband also comes with an IP67 certificate. Thus it is waterproof as well as dustproof. Underneath is an elevated heart rate and power connector and uses a charging cradle to charge the band. There is a 95mAh Lithium-polymer battery providing up to 18 days of standby time or 9 days of normal use.
The Honor Band A2 is compatible with iOS (8.0+) and Android (4.4+). It connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Just like the Huawei Honor A1, the A2 is focused on fitness and health, it includes a pedometer, heart rate monitor, calorie and distance counter, sleep monitoring and sedentary alert, there is also a goal setting to push you to go further and get fit. However, as the Huawei Honor A2 shows notifications on message and calls, social apps such as Facebook, Twitter etc.
