A couple of weeks back two ‘new’ smartphones were announced in India. They belong to Xiaomi’s budget-friendly line. You should know, on February 14 the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was announced exclusively for the Indian market. But if the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is the same Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus launched in China earlier. So the domestic market has to get the second model only. Earlier this week, we heard the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro will be launched in China as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Actually, that’s a game of words, but what we are interested in the launch date and the specs. Today Lei Jun confirmed this handset will sport an enhanced camera in comparison to the Indian version.
It’s been rumored we’ll see the Chinese Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 in March. Yesterday, we learned the exact launch date of March 16. Thus we are going to get our hands on it in a couple of weeks. This simply means we just have to recall its key features to understand what a category smartphone we are dealing with and what can be changed in it.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is packed with a 5.99-inch full-screen that comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and 2160 × 1080 pixels resolution. Thus it can compete with any high-end full-screen smartphone in terms of display. Under the hood, we can find a Snapdragon 636 chip paired with a 4/6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of native storage. On the back, it sports a 12+5MP dual-camera, while a 20MP shooter is placed on the front. The battery capacity is 4000mAh. At last, there are up to four color options to choose from – blue, black, gold, and rose gold. As usual, this Redmi-line handset uses an all-metal housing with a three-stage antenna design. The fingerprint scanner is located on the back.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is a regular mid-range handset with an affordable price tag. But it comes with the trendies features including a full-screen, dual-camera, face unlock, and many more. After Lei Jun’s words, we can wait for a larger resolution back camera. This simply means it will provide better and clearer photos. Hope it won’t affect the pricing.
