Not all smartphones of Umidigi are good. Earlier when this brand was called Umi we saw it was launching low-end smartphones one after another. But later it revised its strategy and began making more or less acceptable handsets. One of such devices was the Umidigi S2, a full-screen smartphone with a decent specs list. A bit later, we saw its Pro variant that provided a smooth and stable performance as well. And now it’s the turn of the Umidigi S2 Lite, which has got a price off. The phone can be yours for only $149.99 after applying the coupon (code: WeekCode26).
The Umidigi S2 Lite comes with a very stylish look. Even without looking at the key features, we can say a phone that sports such a look deserves the price set for it. Besides the 5.99-inch full-screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 90% screen-to-body ratio, it uses a metal body with a double-U shape antenna design. Thanks to those ribbons the antenna signal transmission was improved by 20%. Also, the back is curved to provide a better ergonomics and single-hand operations. The display is covered with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 that protects it from minor scratches.
As for hardware, the Umidigi S2 Lite sports a MediaTek MTK6750T chip, which is the chip maker’s octa-core LTE Cat-6 smartphone SoC for the super mid-range market. Thus it’s been made to compete with the Snapdragon 660. This processor is paired with a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the back, we have a dual-camera using a 16+5MP sensors combination, while another 5MP camera is on the back to take selfies.
The next selling points of the Umidigi S2 Lite include a 5100mAh monster-size battery, Android 7.0 with all of its goodies, and facial recognition feature. Unlike many other devices that support Face ID, this handset does it at the hardware level. Plus, there is a fingerprint scanner on the back, if you prefer the data protection via this technology.
