The trendiest feature in the smartphone market is the full-screen. With the launch of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 this term got a new sense. But the Mi MIX family handsets and all the rest smartphones from this category cost too much for many customers who are on a tight budget. So the companies should begin launching handsets with this feature and at a lower price tag. The Huawei Honor Play 7X the company set new rules for the game. Xiaomi has accepted the challenge or, conversely. I mean we have heard about a full-screen Xiaomi phone at a low price tag long ago. But no one still knows what name it will come with and what features it will sport. Today this amazing handset has appeared on TENNA along with the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 all-ceramic version. So some information about the upcoming Xiaomi full-screen phone has been revealed.
Two models from the fifth-gen Redmi line have already been out. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A costs 599 yuan ($90), while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is available at 699 yuan ($106). In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi full-screen phone should be priced around 1000 yuan ($150) to compete with the Huawei model. According to rumors, the new phone will cost 899 yuan ($136). This is quite affordable if taking into account we are dealing with a full-screen smartphone.
The new model that has visited TENNA carries a model number of MET7. Some people think this phone will be called the Xiaomi Redmi 5 or the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. We tend to think this is the latter, as the former one has visited TENNA for a few months back and it carried a model number of MAE136. By the way, there is also another rumored phone with the same feature, but it looks different. It should be the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus.
Well, let’s think of this phone as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. As the TENNA photos showcase, it comes with a Samsung S8-like design and a metal body using a three-stage design. Thus the lower and upper parts should be made of plastic for better signal transmission. Plus, there is a single camera along with a back-mounted fingerprint scanner.
As for the hardware, TENNA doesn’t reveal anything concerning its features. But some Mi fans are sure the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be the first Snapdragon 450-packed phone. This processor has been made for low-end models. It runs on a 14nm process node and comes with an octa-core A53 architecture. It’s the enhanced variant of the Snapdragon 435 that supports dual-camera. As for the other improvements, the performance has been improved by 25%, the graphics performance has been increased by 25% as well due to Adreno 506 found on the Snapdragon 625/626, and at last, the power consumption has been reduced by 30%. This chip is paired with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Finally, the screen is said to be at 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels. So 899 yuan price tag should be a finding for it.
