Today, we got our first ever benchmark scores of the Xiaomi Mi 7 that was spotted on Geekbench today with Snapdragon 845 processor and 6GB RAM. As per the scores, the performance is on par with recently launched Snapdragon 845 phones. The firmware files of the phone have leaked out, and just like the Mi Mix 2S, we have got some very interesting details from the firmware files that were found first by XDA. The Mi 7 was previously rumored to launch in February, but there were some reports that Xiaomi is making some significant design changes due to which the launch is delayed.
Starting off with the first detail found in the firmware files, the display has a notch on top so yes, the Xiaomi Mi 7 is going to be a yet another Android smartphone that is following Apple’s footsteps by adding a notch on the top of the display. But, unlike a lot of smartphone companies that add notch just for basic sensors, earpiece, and the front camera, Xiaomi has also added an InfraRed camera in the notch which is similar to what the Apple iPhone X has. Just like on iPhone X, we are sure that this will be used for accurate facial recognition.
Next, the phone packs a 3,400mAh battery under the hood which is quite good because the Snapdragon 845 is a very power efficient processor, thanks to the 10nm manufacturing process. Well, a lot of other details are yet to be discovered so stay tuned.
