The most attractive full-screen handset is considered to be the newly launched Xiaomi Mi MIX 2. This device is the worthy continuation of the original model launched last year. As you remember, the first-gen Mi MIX came with a ceramic housing. It is fragile, but this material provides the way better look and antenna signal transmission. So Xiaomi is tend to use it in all of its premium flagships. Actually, the ceramic body looks great, but it requires too many technological processes that not only affect the production capacity but also the pricing. That’s why the company decided to replace the ceramic frame with a metal one on the second-gen model to avoid the production capacity shortage. However, there is also the second model coming with all-ceramic housing. Thus everything in it is made of this material. It’s been expected to see this model immediately after the ‘lower’ version went on sale. But we only have seen a couple of photos published by Lei Jun on his social media account. Now seems the launch date is getting closer, as the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 all-ceramic version has visited TENNA.

As you know, this model will be available only in white sporting better features than the regular model. It comes with a 5.99-inch full screen at a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels with a screen ratio of 18:9, a pixel density of 403ppi, a contrast ratio of 1500:1, and color gamut of DCI-P3, full-blooded version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chip clocked at 2.45GHz paired with an Adreno 540 GPU, 3400mAh battery, which also supports Quick Charge 3.0 (9V / 2A) fast charge via the USB Type-C interface, 12MP sensor at a pixel size of 1.25 micron, 4-axis OIS, 6-chip lens, aperture of f/2.0 and PDAF focus, 5MP front shooter supporting a 3rd-gen beautifying software and real-time video call at 1080p resolution. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 supports 4G+ as well as VoLTE. And as you see, the company has canceled the 3.5mm audio jack on this handset. So you have to use the USB-C port or Bluetooth for listening music via headphones. However, as we are dealing with the highest variant it comes with an 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM. Its sibling, the black ceramic-metal version, sports a 6GB of RAM and three options for the storage including a 64/128/256GB. Thus this is going to be the first 8GB RAM phone of the company.

Well, we have already understood the all-ceramic Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is going to be a great phone in terms of hardware. But what about the appearance? It’s said the ceramic housing should go through 1400 C high temperature during 7 days, 240 tons molding, and repeated carving via a 0.01mm cutter head that is replaced for each phone. Thanks to it the phone looks like a piece of natural jade.
As I said, the phone was shown in a couple of photos today. So all these leaks hint at the upcoming launch of this much-awaited model. But do not expect to see it this month, as, at the September conference, Lei Jun announced the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 all-ceramic version is going to hit the market in November only.
