Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro are selling in a flash in the flash sales as the phones are going out of stock in just seconds. If you don’t know, the company is now launching the phone in China, but unlike India, the Redmi Note 5 Pro will be called Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 in China since there is already Redmi 5 Plus for the Chinese market which is just India’s Redmi Note 5 with a different name. But, it looks like Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 5 in China with the latest Android version on top as suggested by the TENAA listing.
There have been some TENAA listings in past couple of days that show Android 8.1 Oreo as the Android version which means the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is launching with Android Oreo in China whereas we have Android Nougat on the Indian version. The update to Android 8.1 will arrive soon for the Indian users, and that is expected to bring the Project Treble support. So, looks like the Chinese version will be launched with the Project Treble support under the hood.
Other specifications will remain the same including Snapdragon 636 processor, 4/6GB RAM, 64GB ROM, 4,000mAh battery, dual rear cameras, 20MP selfie camera and an 18:9 display on the front.
